Around the world, a large number of activities are organised and The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research have also joined together to celebrate both events with the organisation of the Charles Darwin Week. There will be hosted three major meetings organized by and for scientists. All the speakers invited are eminent and leading scholars in their field of research. The week will start with the KNAW symposium Evolution, a matter of facts followed by an Invitational Conference The Relevance of Evolutionary Thinking and the two-day NWO Conference Human Evolution and Behaviour. During the four days of the Darwin Week a poster exhibition, developed and made available by the British Council as a part of Darwin Now, will be displayed. This international project celebrates the life and work of Charles Darwin. The exhibition focuses on Darwin's life, how he came up with his ground-breaking theory, and how his ideas are still relevant today.
